Hill Yeah!

Conquering the Climbs

Good morning! Today, we're taking our training to new heights... literally!

Welcome to Day 28 of our journey to sweet, sweet victory! We're tackling the topic of hill training. That's right, we're about to make molehills out of mountains – or should I say, donut holes out of donut mountains?

Today's Training:

• 40 min cross-training of choice (to prep for tomorrow's hill work)

• Upper body & core strength exercises

Hill training isn't just a sneaky way for running coaches to make you work harder. Here's why it's the chocolate glaze on your training donut:

1. Strength Building: Hills naturally increase resistance, building power in your legs and core.

2. Speed Improvement: The power you develop on hills translates to faster running on flat ground.

3. Mental Toughness: Conquering hills builds confidence and resilience.

4. Form Enhancement: Hills naturally encourage proper running form.

5. Race Preparation: Unless you're running in a donut shop, most races include some inclines!

Tune into today's podcast episode for more insights on effective hill training techniques and how to incorporate them into your routine.

What's your relationship with hills? Love 'em, hate 'em, or love to hate 'em? Share your best hill-conquering tip!

💡 Pro Tip: When running uphill, shorten your stride, pump your arms, and keep your eyes focused about 10-20 feet ahead. And remember, every uphill has a downhill!

Tomorrow, we'll put our hill training knowledge into practice with some actual hill work. Get ready to feel the burn... and then reward yourself with a well-earned (metaphorical) donut!

Remember, hills are just opportunities in disguise. They're your chance to show gravity who's boss and prove that what goes up, must come down... faster and stronger! 💪

Keep climbing towards those goals! The view at the top will be worth it!
